The Designer in Residence program is a core part of the studio’s activity and exists to encourage and support other seasoned designers in finding rewarding overlap between their professional expertise and personal passions. The program is best suited for designers in transition—from dependence to independence, from one industry to another, from design as service to design as product. Whatever it may be, you are welcome here.
Just as I split my time between client work and personal projects, so will the designer in residence. For six months the resident will work three days a week with Hoffman & Co. and spend the rest of thier time on their personal project(s). This is not an internship and you will not be treated as a production designer. The studio work will be very hands on–you will be collaborating at a high level with myself, and at times, the client.
